On its introduction the 105bhp Wankel engine was a revelation; it pulled smoothly, the handling was agile and it had good looks. Power was boosted in 1981 to 115bhp which Vic Elford increased with the addition of a turbo. The second generation models were introduced in 1986 with changes to the body and the redesigned engine now developed 148bhp. A couple of years later the Mazda Turbo had 200bhp and also the option of a convertible body. The normally aspirated cars ceased in 1989 with the Turbo remaining until 1992. This is a book of contemporary road & comparison tests, long term tests, buying used & racing. Models covered: GS, BAE Turbo, GSL, Kent RX, Elford RX Turbo, GSL SE, DTSS, Turbo, Convertible, GTU & Infini IV. 172 pages, 450 illus. SB. 360001000 SKU: MAZ78GP ISBN: 9781855203334 |
