Suzuki GT 750 Performance Portfolio 1971-1977 £13.95

The Suzuki Motor Company burst into the superbike league with what is considered to be their first superbike, the GT 750 liquid cooled, 3-cylinder, 2-stroke. Prior to this the largest capacity bike was the T 500 2-stroke twin. When introduced at the 1971 Tokyo show it was called a T 750R but was soon changed to GT 750 as at this time all the range was changed from T to GT badging. We first saw the GT 750 J early in 1972 and it received a mixed reception from the bike press at that time, from too heavy to a Grand Tourer. There was even a road test with a double adult sidecar attached, wow! Through its six model changes its BHP was changed from 67 to 70bhp, it gained twin front discs and, many paint and striping changes. Visually they all looked very similar, that is unless you know all the subtle changes, from GT 750J, K, L, M, A, and finally the GS 750 lookalike the B. Today the GT 750 is affectionately known as the Kettle in the UK and, Water Buffalo in Germany and the USA. How many bikes do you know that are known by nickname only The GT 750 has a great following in the classic scene, here in the UK and abroad, with many riders returning to them for various reasons. They either owned a Kettle in the 1970s or, more likely, they always wanted to own one but could never afford one back in the 1970s. In its six year span it was to take many great wins in its TR 750 form by such as, Barry Sheene, Stan Woods, Cliff Carr, John Newbold, Percy Tait, to name but a few. It can still be seen today in Classic racing holding its own against the best. So if you have got a GT 750 J, K, L, M, A or B, or even a TR 750 machine, the GT 750 Performance Portfolio has something for you. Keep on Kettling.
